Ada apa sih pada 21 Oktober 2012?
21 Oktober 2011 adalah hari yang sangat spesial karena dilantiknya OSIS periode 2011/2012 di SMA N 61 yang memiliki nama OSIS Iva Grhita Apalaska Subhate. Mungkin bagi siswa di sekolah lain pelantikan pengurus PK dan OSIS adalah hal yang biasa, tetapi di sekolah kami berbeda. Pelantikan ini adalah hal yang sangat ditunggu tunggu oleh para calon pengurus setelah mereka melewati banyak rintangan dan proses pendiklatan yang cukup panjang.

Wah, memang proses pendiklatan yang seperti apa?
Rahasia. Kalau mau tau ya cobain aja jadi Calon Pengurus OSIS. Hahaha. Tapi simpelnya, proses pendiklatan ini menjadi bekal bagi para calon pengurus saat mereka jadi penggurus PK dan OSIS nantinya. Selain itu, dari proses pendiklatan inilah Calon Pengurus OSIS menjadi sebuah keluarga yang kompak dan solid. {}

Oke, jadi OSIS Iva Grhita Apalaska Subhate adalah OSIS di SMA 61 periode 2011/2012
Nama Iva Grhita Apalaska Subhate adalah nama pendek dari OSIS tersebut yang sering disingkat OAS diambil dari bahasa sansekerta, yang artinya OSIS yang menjunjung tinggi kebersamaan sebagai peraih masa depan gemilang. Sedangkan nama panjangnya adalah :

OSIS Sraya Sraddha Abhi Brahman Tistha Urdhva Eka Atman Katara Utthana Saha Nahya Kebhinnekaan. Vaha Abhipraya, Satyam Jnanam, Srjati Avadamsa, Ati Karya Saha Santi Ca Rabhate Rsva Iva Grhita Apalaska Subhate

Yang artinya

OSIS yang didasari keimanan terhadap Tuhan Yang Maha Esa, berdiri atas satu jiwa yang kokoh dengan menyatukan berbagai perbedaan. Menampung aspirasi, menciptakan inspirasi, mengoptimalkan kreatifitas dengan ketenangan, serta menjunjung tinggi kebersamaan sebagai peraih masa depan gemilang.

OSIS Iva Grhita Apalaska Subhate terdiri dari 30 orang, yang 10 orang merupakan pengurus PK dan 20 lainnya adalah pengurus OSIS dengan struktur kepengurusan sebagai berikut :
